Suggested Activities:

• Construct a web to using pictures to illustrate parts of your life. You may use photographs or drawings to show how you like to spend your free time, how you have changed as you have grown, and /or how you and your family have changed over time.
• Students will make an All About Me cube to explain about their personal identity.
• Have each student locate his or her birthplace on a map and mark it. Make a class graph of birthplaces.
• Make a family tree that identifies immediate family members.
• Interview a family member.
• Read a story about a family and then do a Venn diagram for their family and yours.

• Students design a tee shirt to show their unique characteristics and growth over time. Ask them to draw pictures of themselves at different stages of their lives and pictures to show how their interests and identities have developed. The activity could be done with a real shirt or with a reproducible outline of a tee shirt.
• Students use apples to explore their individual likenesses and differences. (txt file)
• Making a classroom quilt.
• Ugly Duckling? The student will be able to identify characteristics that contribute to one’s personal identity from birth to the present.
